While the state’s unemployment rate remains above the national average of 3.6 percent, between May and June there was a .2 percent decrease in unemployment. In May, the unemployment rate was 4.9 percent and in June it dropped to 4.7 percent. According to the Department of Labor Statistics, since the beginning of 2022 Nevada’s unemployment has steadily decreased from the state’s yearly high of 5.2 percent in January. These numbers are a good sign that the state will continue to see improvement in reducing unemployment.
